Blogging Away
Welcome to the very first entry in the official White's Lies blog. We'll be serving up members of our terrific cast and creative team every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in a frothy blog stew. And if we get really desperate for content, we might even throw a producer in there once in a while. (Yum, producer stew!) We hope to entertain, enlighten and give you a look behind the curtain. Of course, if you've seen the show you know there is no curtain. It's not that we're cheap (we are), but that we're so proud of our beautiful set that we want the audience to see it from the moment you step into the theater. Then again, the show is called White's Lies so you know we must be hiding something. Honestly, it makes you wonder if you should believe anything you read in this blog. Honestly.

Hey guys! It’s Robert Kovach the scenic designer for “White’s Lies” and I have to say the entire cast is amazing. All are so dedicated and talented and what a joy to collaborate with especially on a new work. Having the author in the house during tech and previews and working thru the show has been amazing! Thanks Ben.
ReplyDeletePlus, there is so much that goes into creating a great show from a creative stand point. Once the creative team came on board the collaboration was intense. I remember chatting with Ben(author) until 2 and 3am a couple of mornings and our amazing director Bob Cline, five or six times a day working thru various scene, word phrases, and how the set and lighting can compliant the intent of both Bob and Ben. A very cool process.
I don’t want to give away anything so come see “White’s Lies”, but we had lighting demo after lighting demo using different fixture types to material used as a lighting surface. All in all, stunning! The actors are sculpted and pop out from the background all in a contemporary flare.
I’m excited to see the show again tonight.
Come see our show,
Robert
